Qualitative Institute for Resarches, Analyses and Trainings iCHAT, publishes the Report for the First International Conference Model European Union Kosovo 2016.
Model European Union, also known as MEU is a international simulation conference,of legjistativ process of European Union, which aims at connecting young people from all Europe to learn about the EU internal functioning and its legislative procedures. The first simulation of the European Union was held in Strasbourg in 2007 and achieved a great success with the support of the European Parliament and the EU Commission. Nowadays Model European Union is organized in many different countries of the European Union, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Croatia and many other countries. Such a model is organized for the first time in Kosovo by the Qualitative Institute for Research ,Analysis and Training (iCHAT).
This conference has managed to collect around 180 young people from the country,region and Europe, at the headquarters of the institutions in Kosovo. Participants had the opportunity to be part of different roles ranging from EU Commissioner, Ministers of the Council of the European Union, members of Parliament ,to the interpreters, journalists and lobbyists.
Taking into account the actuality of our country in the European path, we consider that this project managed to fulfill two of his key goals, which were practical knowledge in learning how the legislative procedures of the EU institutions work, in the context of this ,also our role in the decision making, as well as other goal was lobbying that was done by the participants of this conference in the institutions of Republic of Kosovo, addressed to the European Union to reflect positively towards visa liberalization for the Republic of Kosovo.
